What mnemonic codes are hidden behind a doorplate? Of what distant times do red bricks and green moss speak?

Recollection is the gift and the privilege of human beings. What floats up from the depths of our memories are usually unspectacular moments from ordinary days. Yet these recalled fragments of life are an important source of sustenance.

Based on a love for the past and a passion for the current moment, the archaeological and contemporary cultural explorations of Huang Tzi-Chin collect, deconstruct and reassemble the living memories of local residents.

Through art, the breath of life is infused into the dilapidated and crumbling houses. Images, symbols and bright sunshine resurrect the dusty past of No. 386, Dihua Street, Section 2. Photos of exhibition visitors become the fragments of future memories, and an eternal blessing on its unbearable desolation.
