The Second Taipei Public Arts Festival Series
– “The Red Ant Club – Colored Drawings
of Jellyfish”
Time: Saturday, April 23 at 2pm
Place: The vacant lot opposite the East Gate of Dalong Elementary
School
Sculptor Ding-zan Liu installed his piece entitled “Jungle Jellyfish”
in a vacant lot opposite the east gate of Dalong Elementary
School. Making ample use of the space’s large trees and unique
environment, his exhibit allows the ambiance of the ocean and
the jungle amid a backdrop of rain to emerge in the community.
The “Colored Drawings of Jellyfish” exhibit features 30 glass-spun
jellyfish hung on large trees in the open lot. Residents are
allowed to interact with Liu’s colored drawings using oil or
spray paint. In addition, the anemones of different colors and
patterns that the public were invited to create will be used
to enhance the beauty of the site’s gate. |

Community
Newsletter to be Published in the Next Few Days
The January issue of the community newsletter is just
about ready for publication.
This edition will introduce the concept of installation
art to community residents. Public art makes use of dialogue
involving the diversity of form and space, offering up
a kind of independent media aimed squarely at the imaginations
of both past and present. We look forward to the continual
expansion of dialogue between communities and artists.
